Focus Home Interactive and developer New World Interactive have announced that Insurgency: Sandstorm will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2017, with the game releasing as an enhanced and expanded version of the FPS series, which has sold over 2.3 million copies on PC.
Built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 4, Insurgency: Sandstorm promises to immerse players in a “gritty, visceral combat experience”, with an arsenal of “diverse firearms” at your disposal. The game will also feature “intense” team-based action throughout a campaign set within the Middle East.
“We are very excited about working with Focus on Insurgency: Sandstorm. We believe there’s a great opportunity for Insurgency on next-gen consoles and that aligning with a strong publisher will allow us to best leverage this,” said New World Interactive co-founder and Game Director, Jeremy Blum.
Boasting a new story mode alongside multiplayer and co-op, Insurgency: Sandstorm will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2017.
